Quan Tao: Cavalry Warriors

King Wu asked Tai Gong:
"How should we select elite cavalry warriors?"

Tai Gong replied:
"Choose those who meet these criteria:

1. Age & Physique: Under 40 years old, standing at least 7.5 chi (≈172.5 cm).

2. Strength & Agility: Exceptional vigor and reflexes surpassing ordinary men.

3. Mounted Combat Mastery:

   • Gallop at full speed while shooting arrows from horseback.

   • Engage enemies fluidly in all directions—front, rear, left, and right.

   • Advance and retreat with precision.

4. Terrain Dominance:

   • Leap trenches, scale hills, breach obstacles, and ford rivers.

   • Pursue and scatter strong foes, even against overwhelming numbers.

Such men are Cavalry Warriors. Grant them high honors, for they are the storm that breaks the enemy’s will."
