Chapter 37
The Tao is forever spontaneous and does not act with intention, and yet nothing is left undone.
If rulers and lords can hold to it, all things will naturally transform and grow.
If, amid that growth, greedy and restless desires arise, I will calm them with the nameless simplicity of the uncarved block.
Calmed by nameless simplicity, they will be free of desire.
Free of desire, they return to stillness, and the world settles into its own right path.
