Details of the Tao

Act without forcing. Do things without stirring up trouble. Taste what has no flavor.

The great grows from the small. The many begins with the few. Repay resentment with kindness.

Deal with difficult things by starting where they are easy. Do great things by starting from what is small.

The difficult things in the world always begin as easy things. The great things in the world always begin as small things. That is why the sage never tries to be great, and so can accomplish great things.

One who makes promises too easily will seldom keep his word. One who takes everything as easy will surely meet many difficulties.

So the sage always treats things as difficult, and in the end has no difficulties.
