Saying little is in keeping with nature.
A whirlwind does not last all morning, and a sudden rainstorm does not last all day.
Who makes these things happen? Heaven and Earth.
If Heaven and Earth cannot make such violent outbursts last long, how much less can a human being?

So those who follow the Tao are one with the Tao.
Those who cultivate virtue are one with virtue.
Those who lose the Tao and virtue are one with loss.

One who is one with the Tao is welcomed by the Tao.
One who is one with virtue is welcomed by virtue.
One who is one with loss is welcomed by loss.

When trust is lacking, distrust appears.
